All people of Kaunas, regardless of their ethnic background or beliefs, are invited to join a procession marking the anniversary of the liquidation of the Kaunas ghetto, commemorated in Lithuania on 14 July.

Because, first and foremost, we are citizens of Kaunas and everything that happens or has occurred in this city is the responsibility of all of us.

A procession of the living will retrace the symbolic path tread by the inhabitants of the Kaunas ghetto during the Great Action. The Path of Reconciliation will be accompanied by art installations highlighting the event’s historic and emotional aspects. A performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Nabucco”, directed by Kęstutis S. Jakštas, will take place at the end of this symbolic path. Performed in the original language with Lithuanian surtitles. The project space, the Ninth Fort, is the perfect place to shed light on conflicts of values, the subject of oppression and suffering, and the hope of liberation.
