The performance is a combination of dreams, reality, roses and confusion. It is a journey that is taken together with the teller and the audience. The path is traveled with bicycles, sailing boat, imagination, sausage and spells…
Finland is a land of endless forests and thousands of lakes. The forest is sacred, but it’s the edge of the civilized area, an unknown and frightening place. The Devil might be lurking behind the trees; other creatures are watching from the undergrowth. Which are good and which are bad? And how can you be sure?
Markus weaves these traditional tales from Finland with narratives from his own life. The result is a string of stories about love, death, and dreaming, told in Markus’ down-to-earth, interactive and dynamic style. Performance premiered in Finland 2014 with a title ”Mun nimi ei ole Matti”. It has been performed videly around on different European storytelling clubs and festivals.
