Artist Vytenis Jakas and the group matyti.lt have been researching the story behind the Vytautas the Great monument in the center of Kaunas for several years now. The history of the origin of the monument testifies that the concept of the sculpture by the sculptor Vincas Grybs and the place he suggested was completely different. The sculpture of the Grand Duke depicted in a romanticized pedestal, at the suggestion of the author, was to stand in front of the Central Post Office building.
