Kaunas Municipal Vincas Kudirka Public Library, founded in 1925, is one of the oldest municipal public libraries in Lithuania. During long years of existence, the Library has changed and grown. It has also repeatedly changed its premises and name. The Library was opened in the current premises near the fountain of Laisvės alėja in 1960. One year ago the life of the Library was stopped by the renovation that now is being completed. We now invite you to be one of the first to see renovated premises and also learn more about its history, enter the safe of a former bank “Ūkio bankas” created by Jonas and Juozas Vailokaičiai, and see the oldest library book.
Event is available only in Lithuanian
