Fazer Lietuva Bakery has opened its doors to Kaunas citizens and city guests and invites them to learn about the bread making process in person. Bread is a very important element of many Lithuanians’ meals that holds both a functional and an emotional meaning. Even though the bread making process today is largely automatic, no loaf of bread can be successfully made without people’s touch, their warmth of hands and pleasant feelings. Since the brand name Gardėsis (The Delicacy) has been known in Kaunas since 1995, many people associate the bakery with the city. However, few people have actually been to the bakery and seen the intricate process of bread making up-close. Therefore, we invite everyone who is interested in learning the intricacies of making bread in person to Fazer Lietuva. Our goal is to educate the community and show that bread-making is a respectable job, as it requires extra attention to details, great care and constant development of recipes. We also want to show that even in today’s world bread has retained its value by demonstrating that it can have a great variety of flavours and shapes, and that it can be made of many new or unconventional ingredients, which means that new types of bread can still be made.
