On the opening night of the CityTelling Festival, a procession of 12 angels will march to the heart of the city – Laisvės alėja. In today’s challenging and divided world, these angels are our promise of unity and reconciliation. They offer hope that we will be able to come to terms with the past and ourselves, learn to be open to each other, and discover communion and love for our neighbours.
Together, we invite you to ask yourself: what do the angels mean to us today? Do we need angels? Can we be angels to one another?
On the last day of the festival, October 9, the angels will return to their temporary home – the town of Linksmakalnis, where they will live until autumn 2022. The author of the angels – artist Marit Benthe Norheim (Denmark).
On the same day at 14:00 in Linksmakalnis, the angels, together with local children, will perform in the contemporary circus performance “First Steps” (directed by Džiugas Kunsmanas).
The journey to Linksmakalnis on the Kaunas 2022 bus will start at 13:00 from Kaunas Bus Station (see more).
