Through moving images, virtual reality, animation, and the experience of sounds and smells, this interactive multimedia installation will immerse visitors into the unusual spaces and almost insurmountable distances described in Grinkevičiūtė′s memoir, “Lithuanians by the Laptev Sea”, about her Siberian exile. The exhibition is based on the different stages in the author′s life: her childhood in interwar Kaunas, her experience of exile in the Far North, and her mother′s funeral in postwar Kaunas.
